sheelal: Close-up of my self sim. (Sims.)

Around here I decided to stop using the built-in capture feature of the Sims 2 and start using the built-in capture feature of Mac OS 10.6. It’s a little more involved than just hitting C during the game (F10 to make the menus vanish, Command+Shift+4, spacebar, click on the window, F10 to bring the menus back), but if everything’s ready and the game is paused, there’s really no excuse when the result is guaranteed to be higher res, if nothing else.

There’s probably a better way to do it than that. Hence the test legacy: I can try out anything I want to, whenever I want to.

Speaking of the test legacy…

Babette sitting inside, still at her mini-picnic table, reading a book from a cinderblock-and-wooden-planks bookcase.
We return to our intrepid heroine test legacy founder, who is doing not too badly by herself. She found a Ming Vase buried in her backyard. That’s enough to buy some walls and a cheap roof!

…and a bookcase, which is what she cared the most about. Sigh. Knowledge Sims.

Anyway. Remember Grant? The walkby guy that totally DOES NOT LIKE THE MOON?
Babette and Grant playing Red Hands, which is apparently some kind of hand-slapping game.
Once you get past the moon thing, he’s an okay guy. Even though Babette meant to invite Charlie over, and Charlie just kind of… brought him along.

Grant carrying Babette around in his arms. They're a cute couple.
He also turned out to be more receptive to flirting than Charlie was.

Babette and Grant kissing by moonlight. Er, window light.
Much more receptive.

Babette putting a forkful of food in Grant's mouth.
Seriously, look at them! Were you expecting this from I HAET TEH MOON guy? Yet they were getting absolutely nowhere, relationship-wise. Just being really, really cute at each other.

Then I realized I’d forgotten to spawn an ACR adjuster on the lot. Whoops. The moment I corrected that, this happened:Babette and Grant, naked and getting onto a double bed together.
Babette and Grant kissing on the bed, all censor-pixelled. Grant has the Just Fallen In Love heart with an arrow over his head.
Wow, ACR. You don’t waste any time, do you?

I decided to have Grant move in, since he’s a generated townie and almost sure to have an income, which would definitely help. Besides, legacy requires babies and babies with one adult Sim on the lot is crazymaking.

I didn’t realize that Grant had a fucking great job until he moved in. Level 6 Medical!

One of the regular senior citizen tour groups from Old Town is taking a tour through the clinic, but their numbers seemed to have dwindled. As Grant walks over to the group almost half of them proclaim to be ill and that they need to lie down. Grant examines one of them, a woman with blue hair, but is unable to find anything wrong. Should he turn them away as hypochondriacs, or start filling in the paperwork to check them all in?
Agh, a chance card. I always seem to get these wrong. I could just hit “ignore” and stay safe, but… well, if he gets fired, it’ll become a poverty challenge again, kind of. Check them all in, Grant!

Grant spends the next hour checking in each of the senior citizens, and the few hours after that examining every single one of them. The first dozen or so are all given a clean bill of health, and after 4 hours Grant is unable to find anything wrong with any of them. The whole procedure has cost the clinic quite a bit of time and money, but the members of the tour group are quite appreciative, and Grant receives 3 charisma skill points reflecting his new standing in the community, and a body skill point for all his hard work.
….holy shit, that was the right answer. Well! I guess he still has a job after all!

Tune in next time, when… hopefully babby is formed.
